St. Mary Ministries and Groups
“As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.” 1 Peter 4:10

Welcoming all Orthodox women of the church to gather together in fellowship and service to Christ.
Our church is God’s Home, and just like our own home, it is important that we keep God’s Home neat and clean. The cleaning ministry team works behind the scenes to serve Christ in this unique way.
Do you enjoy gathering around food in fellowship? Do you like showing hospitality? Do you have a special day or event you would like to share with your parish family? Please consider the wonderful opportunity of hosting a Coffee Hour after one of our services.
The human voice is the most moving instrument of them all. Because of this simple beauty, and following the example of ancient Christianity, Orthodox Christian music is all vocal, save perhaps an organ in scattered parishes. Orthodox musical traditions include some of the very finest choral music from both east and west, and some of the oldest hymns in Christendom. Not surprisingly, the choir is a special ministry in our church. Many unique voices are needed for harmony, and new voices are always welcome.
Serving Christ by serving our church community is important to help our church keep running. Groups that work on this include the:
- Parish Council
- Church Secretary
- Service Video Streaming
- Website/Social Media
Children are part of the body of Christ from the beginning. For this reason infants are not only baptized, but receive Holy Communion as well. They participate in the Divine Liturgy alongside adults, for they are as much a part of God’s kingdom as their parents. Accordingly, Church School happens before the Divine Liturgy, so that our children may be instructed in the faith as well as being joined with the parish to worship.
Church School runs during the regular school year with a break in the summer.
Have you ever wondered how you, as a layperson, could participate in the Divine Liturgy in a very special way? Would you like to have special prayers said on behalf of your loved ones at Sunday’s Divine Liturgy? Do you enjoy baking? If you answered “yes” to any of these question please consider signing up for offering Holy Bread.
The Landscaping Ministry Committee is a labor of love. If you enjoy the outdoors, have a green thumb, are good with a shovel and wheelbarrow, and are truly amazed by God’s works of nature, then we need you!
Are you mechanically inclined? Do you enjoy getting your hands dirty? Do you like to “tinker”? If you answered “yes” to these questions, please think about joining St. Mary’s Maintenance Ministry Team. Not only would you be helping keep God’s House in good working order, but you would also be helping to reduce our parish expenses.
The goal of the food ministry is to feed the bodies and souls of our parishioners through food, prayer and visitation with the active involvement of our other members. Whether they are sick, recovering from childbirth/surgery, acting as a full-time caregiver for a family member, or grieving over a death, it reminds them that their church is their for them on more than just Sundays. We are here to provide food, prayer, encouragement, compassion, prayer, and especially love.
This ministry promotes personal ties and strengthens the communion of our church. Those involved have made wonderful friends through this ministry whom they otherwise might have never have known well. Serving on this ministry team will provide an opportunity for a deeper connection to our parish. What a blessing!
